This week our JK class was busy learning about trees and all the wonderful things that trees give us! We looked at trees during different seasons of the years and spoke about the colours of the leaves. We then picked our favourite season and had so much fun creating a tree from that season out of tissue paper! We then looked at the inside of trees. We learned how to tell how old trees are. It was so exciting to see the students count the rings of different trees to see just how old they really are. Finally we learned all about the wonderful things trees give us like food, oxygen and paper. The students worked so well together in helping our trees by being "recycling hunters." We continued to work on our gross and fine motor skills through activities such as playdough fun, lacing, and beading.
